Six things to do in Crediton that will make you want to move here straight away

Play a round of Golf

If you’re a golf enthusiast, you need to visit Downes Crediton Golf Club. Featuring an 18-hole golf course set in 90 acres of parkland, the golf club also offer club house facilities including a full catering service and bar. Enjoy a delicious meal at The Three Little Pigs

Lightly Dusted Calamari, Spicy Chicken and Chorizo Pizza and Sticky Toffee Pudding can all be found on the tempting menu at The Three Little Pigs. Based in Crediton’s town centre, this characteristic bar and restaurant is popular with residents and visitors alike. The Three Little Pigs boasts a good collection of real ales and local ciders and a great choice of bar snacks and meals. Want to stay in on a Saturday night but don’t want to cook? The Three Little Pigs offer a takeaway pizza service, available 12pm-3pm and 6pm-10pm.

Entertain the little ones at Planet Play

If you’re looking to move and have young children, Crediton could be the perfect location for you. There’s plenty of attractions close by to keep the kids entertained, including Planet Play. Based just around the corner from Tarka View, Planet Play is a soft play centre created with children aged 0-9 specifically in mind. Whilst the little ones have fun exploring, adults can take a well-deserved break in the café and enjoy a selection of refreshments.

Take a leisurely stroll around Shobrooke Park

If you fancy breathing in the fresh countryside air on a sunny day, then a visit to Shobrooke Park is a must. Located just over a mile away from Tarka View, Shobrooke Park offers acres of grounds to explore. Stick to the walking path and you will discover the large lake in the centre of the grounds as well as Canada Geese, sheep and other wildlife. With the park being both dog and child friendly, it’s a great day out for the whole family to enjoy.

Join the Secret Cider Society at Sandford Orchards

Fancy yourself as a cider connoisseur? Visit the craft cider makers at Sandford Orchards, creating cider from naturally fermented, freshly pressed apple juice. You can embark on a tour of the cider works to find out how the refreshingly tasty cider at Sandford Orchards is made. You’ll also have the chance to sample a range of ciders at the end of the tour. Want to be a part of an exclusive cider club? Join the Secret Cider Society for an evening of delicious food and drink. If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, every Friday night you can enjoy fresh, stone baked pizza in the Cider Works Tap Room!

Discover the town’s history at the Crediton Museum

Crediton has a rich history. You can delve further into the story of this market town by visiting the Crediton Museum based at The Old Town Hall in the high street. Welcoming over 1,500 visitors a year, one of the museums popular attractions is an accurate model of the high street before the Great Fire of 1743. Museum exhibitions are open from Easter to October every year, 10am-4pm Wednesday to Friday and 10am-1pm on a Saturday.
