Our Approach

Designing beautiful homes and neighbourhoods that will enhance their communities for generations to come is a responsibility we take very seriously. We have developed our 'Legacy Collection' of house types which support this ethos and have been designed to enhance and compliment towns and villages within which we created new developments. We believe we own it to all our customers to make sure that we build the very best homes that we can.

Our design ethos is shaped by our desire to create properties that add to their local setting, perform to the highest standards, delight our customers and meet the needs of modern living. We work hard to ensure that every new Devonshire Homes property delivers excellence across three key measures:

Design innovation

When we developed our 'Legacy Collection' all aspects of our homes were reviewed to ensure we enhanced the look, feel and function of every new home we build. For example, we have maximised light and space; increased ceiling heights; keep utility meters hidden yet accessible, refining the appearance of your property and the street scene without sacrificing ease of use. The first examples can be seen at Mariner's Haven, Ilfracombe.

Build quality

We’re justifiably proud of our record on quality, which is achieved by supporting our construction teams, enabling them to complete work to the highest possible standards. We are continually looking at new processes and innovative ideas to maintain our build quality and keep us relevant. At the heart of all we do is our 'Customer Journey', this ensures quality is checked and monitored throughout the buying process and our customers are kept informed and updated.

Energy efficiency

We are continually reviewing the latest building techniques and high performance materials to create a home that is sustainable and energy efficient. We balance this approach with a desire to create homes that are affordable to buy and run. As part of this commitment, we incorporate the latest advancements in energy efficiency including Part L of the Building Regulations. This ensure our homes are designed to deliver superior thermal performance, reduce carbon emissions and ultimately help our homeowners reduce their running costs. In prioritising sustainability in our developments, we aim to play our part in an eco-friendlier future, for both us and our residents.
