  • Technical Coordinator

    Due to continued expansion of the business Devonshire Homes are seeking to recruit a full time Technical Coordinator. The position which would be based at our head office in Tiverton and the successful applicant would report directly to the Technical Manager.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    To appoint and manage external consultants to ensure delivery of full and accurate technical information to an agreed timescale.

    To ensure all value engineering possibilities are explored and realised whilst maintaining a high quality finished product.

    To assist in the production, submission and management of our Planning Applications.

    To ensure all planning and S106 conditions/obligations are communicated to the site team and complied with.

    To progress Section Agreements as required to at least Technical Approval stage and to assist other departments to achieve adoptions.

    To be a pro-active member of each site team and provide quality information and support to other departments as required.

    The above list is not exhaustive but gives an outline of the role and calibre of candidate required for this demanding role.

    The successful candidate is likely to have experience as a Technical Coordinator or be looking to make the progression from a Trainee or Assistant Technical/Architectural/Engineering Coordinator role. They will have experience of being involved on a number of residential projects at any one time. They will be an excellent communicator and able to forge a strong site team consisting of colleagues and external consultants. They should have good drive and determination for continued improvement and an enthusiasm and pride in their contribution to deliver the highest quality Devonshire Home possible.

  • Head of Technical

    Due to continued expansion of the business Devonshire Homes are seeking to recruit a full time Head of Technical. The position which would be based at our head office in Tiverton and the successful applicant would report directly to the Commercial Director.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To oversee the Technical Department.

    To appoint and manage external consultants to ensure delivery of full and accurate technical information to an agreed timescale.

    To assist and co-operate with the Pre-construction and Development Manager in the due diligence on new site opportunities.

    To ensure all value engineering possibilities are explored and realised whilst maintaining a high quality finished product.

    To oversee the production, submission and management of our Planning Applications.

    To manage Technical budgets and Design/Technical delivery programmes.

    To progress Section Agreements as required to at least Technical Approval stage and to assist other departments to achieve adoptions.

    To ensure the company remains fully up to date with regulations and warranty requirements and new developments in construction research and building methods/products.

    The successful candidate is likely to have extensive experience as a Senior Technical Coordinator or Technical Manager. They will have experience of managing multiple residential projects at any one time. They will be an excellent communicator and able to forge a strong site team consisting of colleagues and external consultants. They should have good drive and determination for continued improvement and an enthusiasm and pride in their contribution to deliver the highest quality Devonshire Home possible.

  • Senior Estimator

    Due to continued expansion of the business Devonshire Homes are seeking to recruit a full time Senior Estimator. The position which would be based at our head office in Tiverton and the successful applicant would report directly to the Pre-construction and Development Manager.

    Key responsibilities:

    To collate all required data/information to produce full and accurate site viabilities.

    To carry out due diligence process on new development opportunities to identify constraints and risks.

    To liaise with and appoint, where necessary, external consultants/utility providers/subcontractors to provide any relevant information/fee proposals/quotations to enable the production of accurate costings and viabilities.

    To prepare tender enquires when appropriate and analyse tender returns.

    To visit new sites and make all necessary notes and assimilate information and take account of findings when preparing viabilities.

    To measure and take-off from drawings as necessary.

    To ensure all costings/estimates are based on the most up to date cost data available.

    To assist in the production of cashflow forecasts.

    To be a pro-active member of each site team and provide quality information and support to other departments as required.

    The successful candidate is likely to have experience as an Estimator working for a Housebuilder or Contractor with housing experience. They will have been involved on a number of residential projects at any one time. They will be an excellent communicator and able to be an active member of a strong productive team consisting of colleagues and external consultants. They should have good drive and determination for continued improvement and an enthusiasm and pride in their contribution to deliver the highest quality Devonshire Home possible.
