Engaged couple buy first home together just in time for Christmas

20 February 2018

Matthew Quick and fiancée Daniele Woodward moved into their first home together at Rivel’s Green just in time for Christmas. The young couple moved to the development in Cullompton just two days before Christmas, ready to start the festivities and a new year in their very first home.

Matthew, 24, and Daniele, 23, are proud owners of a three bedroom Webb house type with the well-designed layout of the ground floor, generous sized bedrooms and handy extras influencing their decision.

Matthew said: “The standard specification of the house was superior to all other developers with a good oven and hob, fridge freezer, fully tiled bathrooms all included at no extra cost. Also, the fact that the house came with solar panels was a huge plus as we like the idea of trying to promote green renewable energy wherever possible.”

Having lived in Cullompton for three years prior to moving, Matthew and Daniele were keen to stay in the area but wanted to own their own home. With Exeter so close by, Rivel’s Green really appealed to the couple.

Matthew said: “We looked at pretty much every developer around Exeter and mid Devon but Devonshire Homes really stood out for us. Most importantly, Rivel’s Green was designed well. The houses all have front gardens and are not built on top of each other making the site feel spacious. The location of Rivel’s Green has quick access to the M5 which means we only have a 10 to 15 minute drive to Exeter which is great for shopping. The local area in Cullompton has all the amenities you need with two supermarkets and a couple of pubs and coffee shops.”

Rivel’s Green has been developed with space in mind, something that was very refreshing to Matthew and Daniele.

“Developers are normally so keen to build as many houses on sites as they can which often leads to a feeling that houses are on top of each other” said Matthew. “Rivel’s Green was clearly designed to be the opposite. The site is spacious and well-laid out with many of the houses having front gardens which shows that it has been aesthetically designed.”

The Webb house type boasts three beautiful bedrooms and plenty of space to relax.

Matthew said: “The master bedroom is a fantastic space. Having the en-suite and built in wardrobes in a bedroom would usually take up space however the room feels very spacious even with additional furniture. Daniele loves the size of the kitchen as there is plenty of room to entertain friends and family plus we were thrilled about how many added extras came with it. The reason I love our house is because the overall square footage is bigger than the comparable priced houses with other developers in the area, allowing every room to feel spacious. The large south facing garden is a nice extra as well as the garage and driveway big enough for two cars.”

Throughout the buying process, the Devonshire Homes team went above and beyond to ensure a stress-free move which impressed the couple.

“I have always said that the service from Devonshire Homes has been impeccable” said Matthew. “The on-site sales team have always been willing to go the extra mile to make sure our needs were fully met. If something did need touching up, the process of doing this via customer services was pain free.

“I would 100% recommend Devonshire Homes to others who are looking to move. In fact, I recommended them to a friend of mine who now lives eight houses down the road from me!”
