Devonshire Homes release first new homes for sale at much-anticipated Kingsbridge site, Applegate Park

20 October 2020

House hunters in Kingsbridge now have a new collection of homes to consider as a leading independent West Country house builder has released its first homes for sale at Applegate Park.

Devonshire Homes is now taking early bird reservations on its first release of three bedroom properties at the hotly anticipated site off Belle Hill.

A partnership with the largest housing association in the South West, LiveWest, Applegate Park will ultimately offer a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes and include an affordable homes contribution. Constructed to the high building quality standards of Devonshire Homes, 94 homes will offer a stylish, practical and modern living space with carefully designed exteriors that remain sympathetic to the local environment.

The three bedroom Wembury bungalow is amongst the first release of new homes. Making its debut as Devonshire Homes’ first bungalow on a development, the Wembury is perfect for those looking for an accessible home. House hunters will be welcomed by a spacious hallway with bedrooms two and three either side of the front door. Designed with modern family living in mind, potential homeowners can enjoy a bright and airy open plan kitchen/dining/living area, making this space the heart of the home. Flexible to furniture layouts, the chef could be whipping up a delicious meal in the high-specification kitchen whilst catching up with the rest of the family relaxing in the living area. The Wembury also includes a family bathroom, handy store cupboard and a master bedroom which is set to impress. This tranquil hideaway includes a luxury en-suite shower room and fitted wardrobes included within the price. This room also benefits from a large window, flooding the room with natural light to wake up to in the morning.

Early bird reservations are now also being taken on the three bedroom Dartington house style. Perfect for first time buyers or a small family, the Dartington boasts a separate kitchen at the front of the house and an open plan dining / living area to the rear of the ground floor. This makes for the perfect space to relax in with French Doors opening out onto the patio area and garden. House hunters will be pleased to discover plenty of storage space in the Dartington with two storage cupboards and a handy cloakroom on the ground floor. Three bedrooms and a family bathroom make up the first floor with a master bedroom that includes an en-suite shower room and fitted wardrobes.

The Wembury is priced at £470,000 and the Dartington is available from £360,000. The Help to Buy Equity Loan and Devonshire Move schemes are both available on these new homes.

Jane Pearce, Joint Acting Managing Director at Devonshire Homes, commented:

“We’re pleased to announce the release of our first new homes at our much-anticipated Kingsbridge site, Applegate Park. We’re particularly excited for house hunters to see our very first bungalow, the Wembury. This is a beautiful home which we expect to sell-out fast so if you are interested, I would encourage you to get in contact with our Sales Executive, Fiona, to find out more.”

LiveWest is working in partnership with Devonshire Homes and this will be the second collaboration between both organisations to deliver open market and affordable homes. LiveWest is the largest housing association in the South West, managing nearly 37,000 homes to more than 70,000 customers across the region.

Debra Saunders, Head of Marketing and Sales at LiveWest, said: “We are delighted to be working with Devonshire Homes to deliver this exciting new development in Kingsbridge which will also deliver much-needed affordable homes.

“Both organisations have a common goal of creating high-quality new housing which provides customers with great places to live.

“This new development provides a wide range of homes, including essential family housing in an attractive and vibrant new setting.”

The site is located immediately North of Buckwell Close and is close to the A381 linking Dartmouth and Totnes. Applegate Park is well connected to the town itself which boasts plenty of amenities including two superstores, a leisure centre, restaurants and pubs. Kingsbridge has schooling for all ages with the closest being Kingsbridge Community Primary School and Kingsbridge Community College. Properties at Applegate Park are only a short distance away from some of the most beautiful beaches in the South Hams, including Hope Cove and Salcombe.

The site is not yet open to visitors but the Marketing Suite and show home are anticipated in early 2021. For more information on the new homes available and to reserve, please call Sales Executive Fiona Jardine on 01548 800807 or email applegatepark@devonshirehomes.co.uk.
