4 things our customers have said about the buying journey with Devonshire Homes

30 April 2021

This month marks the second ‘Get to Know Your Customers’ awareness day so we have been reflecting on our customers and the things they say about Devonshire Homes.

Purchasing a new home is an important, memorable milestone and can be deeply personal. That’s why at Devonshire Homes, we endeavour to get to know each customer. We like to understand what makes them tick, their preferred method of communication and what they are looking for from their home buying journey. This helps us to meet the high standards of customer service we set ourselves and why 93.8% of our customers would recommend us.

Here are the top four things that our customers regularly say about the new build home buying journey with Devonshire Homes:

Customer service is top notch

We strive to deliver excellent customer service. We ask all of our buyers to complete a customer satisfaction survey after they have moved into their new home. The feedback we receive is extremely valuable as not only does it help us grow as a business, but it acts as a morale boost for our team too.

“It’s the little things that really make Devonshire Homes stand-out as an approachable house builder. For example, our walls got slightly scuffed when we moved in our big furniture, but the Site Manager said that if we brought some empty jam jars to the Marketing Suite, they would fill them up with the correct paint” – Michael, homeowner at Tarka View, Crediton

“Devonshire Homes were there every step of the way. The team made us feel as though we were the only people purchasing at Ladywell Meadows, the level of detail was that impressive” – Nadine, homeowner at Ladywell Meadows, Chulmleigh

Homes built to a high standard

We use only the very best materials when it comes to constructing our homes. After all, we want our homeowners to enjoy living in our properties for years to come!

“Our home has lovely finishing touches such as high-quality tiles. We have been impressed by the standard of workmanship and if we had any problems, Devonshire Homes would always quickly resolve them” – Gillian, homeowner at Ladywell Meadows, Chulmleigh

“The quality of our home really stood out to me. The kitchen and bathrooms are lovely because of the quality of tiles and integrated appliances” – Suzy, homeowner at Longston Cross, Bovey Tracey

Convenient locations

We recognise that location is key when house hunters are looking for a new home. We carefully select and evaluate the sites we choose and deliberately try to think like our customers. We put ourselves in their shoes and think about if this would be an appealing and thriving place to put down roots.

“We chose Tarka View because of the beautiful setting. I work in Exeter, so it was an ideal location to live in for my commute and we absolutely love Crediton. You’re not living right in the middle of the town but you’re still close by to enjoy all the local amenities” – Sean, homeowner at Tarka View, Crediton

“I first started to look for a new home at Rivel’s Green as the site was in a great location. I work in Exeter and Rivel’s Green is just off the M5 so it’s in a really handy location for me” – Simon, homeowner at Rivel’s Green, Cullompton

Well-considered floor plans

At the heart of what we do is the house styles themselves. Every Devonshire Home meets the need of modern-day living, incorporating little extras such as turf and fitted wardrobes which you wouldn’t necessarily get included with other house builders.

“Our home has a quirky layout, it’s like a modern cottage! It’s evident that the layout has been carefully designed. We don’t hear our next-door neighbours and it almost feels like we still live in a detached home. With a lot of new builds, you often feel that storage space has been compromised, but not here. Even our hallway has two useful cupboards, so we have lots of storage space” – Susan, homeowner at The Tors, Bovey Tracey

“We love the open plan kitchen / dining area in our new Devonshire home. For a new build home, the garden size is also really big which will be perfect in the summer. I think the biggest benefit for us was that because our home was the view home, it was already carpeted and tiled throughout so it was ready for us to move into as soon as we put the offer in” – Rachel, homeowner at Tarka View, Crediton
