13 August 2024

The Mayor of Wincanton joined Devonshire Homes to mark the official opening of its Wincanton site, Dancing Green.

Mayor Howard Ellard officially cut the ceremonial ribbon at Devonshire Homes’ new homes site off Dancing Lane at a special reception held on site. The event marks a significant milestone in Wincanton’s ongoing efforts to provide modern, high-quality, energy-efficient housing for its growing population.

The ceremony saw Mayor Ellard cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Dancing Green project, which is bringing 31 beautiful new homes to the town. Local businesses and community members, key stakeholders and partners were all in attendance at the special reception at which guests had the first chance to look around the brand-new show home.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the range of new homes coming to Wincanton and see Devonshire Homes’ high-quality build first-hand, in addition to finding out more about the variety of schemes which help local house hunters step on or move up the property ladder.

Construction is well underway at Dancing Green, and Devonshire Homes has already experienced a significant level of interest from home buyers looking to move to the exclusive development, which is close to all the town’s amenities. Dancing Green is set to offer a collection of 31 houses, in a variety of house styles ranging from two to five bedrooms, some of which will come under Devonshire Homes’ affordable homes contribution.

Mayor Ellard, commented:

“I was delighted to cut the ribbon at Devonshire Homes’ Wincanton site to mark the opening of Dancing Green and the addition of high quality new homes for our town. It’s great to see the building works advancing so well, with completed houses now out of the ground and the site really coming together, quite a transformation from the original site!”

Sales Executives Caroline and Stevie are now based on site to assist home buyers, helping them find their next home whilst providing more information on the schemes and incentives available. Prices at Dancing Green start from £450,000. Those interested in homes at Dancing Green can look around the show home, which is in the stunning 4 bedroom Wincanton house.

Jane Pearce, Sales and Marketing Director at Devonshire Homes, commented:

“A big thank you to Mayor Ellard for officially launching Dancing Green. We were delighted to welcome him, as well as familiar faces from the area and from our industry, to the launch event and have the opportunity to showcase the site and give our guests a first look inside the show home.”

Jane continued:

“Wincanton’s desirable blend of living close to the countryside, with the amenities of the thriving town and good transport links means we’re already seeing significant levels of interest in the new homes at Dancing Green. Our Marketing Suite is open daily, so I’d encourage those interested in living in a high-quality, energy-efficient new home to act now and visit our Marketing Suite and show home.”
