Three interior trends you can spot in our new North Devon show home
20 October 2025As we enter the cosiest season of the year, we are pleased to open the doors to our brand-new show home at our Ilfracombe development, Mariner’s Haven. An excellent example of the Devonshire Homes Legacy collection, our second show home at this development captures current interior trends, giving house hunters a true feel of what life could look like in a high-quality, new build home.
We have the interior wizards at Clayton & Company to thank for bringing our three bedroom Tamar show home to life. Incorporating this year’s hottest interior trends, the team were also inspired by nature, creating a beautiful space that really brings a Devonshire home to life for house hunters.
Martha Cooper, Senior Design Project Manager at Clayton & Company, commented: “The design features a calming palette of neutrals and is layered with soft, inviting textures and natural materials to create a space inspired by nature. I used a mix of woods, linen finishes, and woven materials, which together create an earthy and organic feel throughout the show home. We used accents of green in the accessories and through plants to evoke the outdoors, complemented by stone-inspired elements and rustic textures to reinforce the connection to nature.
“The styling leans into organic shapes and gentle curves and is balanced with clean lines and monochrome elements to ensure the home maintains a contemporary edge. This blend keeps the aesthetic feeling fresh and modern, while still being warm and inviting, rather than overly polished.
“The home office offers a nod to nature and the hobbies of the potential buyer. The fish artwork blends hobby and design in a curated way while also continuing the natural theme.
“Bedroom three, on the other hand, explores nature more vibrantly and expressively. The abstract headboard paired with the jungle-inspired pink and orange wallpaper creates a striking and playful interpretation of the show home design’s theme.”
So, what interior trends can you spot when you visit our new show home at Mariner’s Haven, Ilfracombe?
1. The inviting L-shaped sofa

As homeowners embrace cosy, welcoming, inviting trends, the over-sized sofa is having a moment. We’re seeing more people choose comfort over style for their living room furniture, and the L or U-shaped sofa meets the brief.
The deep cushions allow you to truly engulf yourself in comfort and because these sofas tend to be quite large, many are sold as modular sets. This means they are easy to move into a home and install, giving you so much more flexibility.
Check out our beautiful emerald L-shaped sofa in the Tamar’s living room which fits seamlessly into this space.
2. Grounding colours that will make you feel balanced

Belonging to the neutral family, grounding colours tend to be from the earthy colour wheel such as deep browns, greys, greens and blues. They pack a bit more of a punch compared to the pastels and creams, and can really bring a space to life.
Clayton & Company used grounding colours throughout our Tamar show home to reflect nature, particularly in the peaceful study area. We think the patterned burnt orange blind and the deep green panelling make a real impact and the accessories that add a touch of nature complete the look.
3. Kitchens that embrace warm woods

It’s a classic interior trend that we see year-after-year but it continues to be popular in homes across the UK. Wood has that warming, welcoming effect and is adaptable, ensuring that your soft furnishings blend into its cosy backdrop.
Embracing wood is an easy way to create that natural effect. We particularly love using the material in our kitchen / dining areas across our show homes, creating that ‘heart of the home’ feel.
Visit the Tamar’s open plan kitchen / dining area at our Ilfracombe development, Mariner’s Haven, to see how Clayton & Company have used wood throughout their design scheme.
We hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek into our brand-new three bedroom show home in North Devon, and you can see how our interior designers have been inspired by nature and embraced this year’s trends.
