Devonshire Homes boosts Tiverton housing charity with £3.3k donation

29 October 2025

Devonshire Homes is excited to announce that we have raised a further £3,300 for our Charity of the Year, the housing, debt and money advice charity, Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT).

CHAT based in Mid Devon, provides vital services to individuals and families facing housing insecurity and financial difficulties. The charity offers housing advice, tenancy support, and emergency assistance to those in need, ensuring that vulnerable members of the community receive guidance and practical support.

From January 2025 to September 2025, the fantastic amount of £3,300 has been raised through our initiative of donating to the charity on every open market sale we make. This will contribute to CHAT’s essential services, helping to prevent homelessness and provide money advice to those struggling to make ends meet in our local area.

Since choosing CHAT as our Charity of the Year in August 2024, we have raised over £11,000 from sales, and fundraising activities such as the Devonshire Home’s annual charity golf day – read more here.

The cheque for £3,300 was presented by Jane Pearce, Sales and Marketing Director at Devonshire Homes, to Holly Sutton, Fundraising and Development Manager for CHAT at our headquarters in Tiverton.

Jane Pearce commented: “We were delighted to present a cheque to CHAT for £3,300 Our staff have been really enthusiastic about supporting this amazing local charity over the last year, and helping to make a positive impact close to home supporting those in need.”

Holly Sutton added: “Everyone at CHAT is incredibly grateful to the team at Devonshire Homes for their continued support and generosity to our local area. The funds raised will help us to continue delivering vital housing advice, debt support and emergency assistance to people in Mid Devon who are struggling to make ends meet.”
