Your ultimate guide to the Devonshire Homes schemes that will help you move
23 December 2025Starting to think about moving in 2026? You’re not alone. In fact, popular property portal Rightmove regularly reports they see a spike in listings and searches during the festive period. In 2024, Rightmove revealed they saw a 46% increase in new listings on Boxing Day and a 20% rise in buyer interest.
As many of us prepare to spend more time at home over the next couple of weeks, it’s the perfect opportunity to indulge in some house hunting to potentially find your next new home.
As an independent West Country housebuilder, we offer a range of schemes to help you move. Here, we summarise what we offer house hunters so that you can choose the scheme that is right for you.
Devonshire Move
Devonshire Move has been designed to help sell your existing home whilst securing your desired plot for up to four weeks. You could even save thousands with your estate agent’s fees covered!
We really do give you a helping hand with this scheme. We instruct two valuations by estate agents local to your property, ask them each to carry out a valuation of your home and suggest a market value. Once you accept, we take your chosen property off the market for a maximum of four weeks. The estate agent will be instructed, and we will monitor advertising and viewings on a weekly basis.
You may complete the reservation of your property with us once you have accepted an offer from a buyer with a complete chain in place within that four-week period. The estate agent will be paid by us upon completion*.

Part Exchange
Found your dream property with us and want a quick sale on your existing home? Keen to avoid lengthy chains? If the answer’s yes, Part Exchange could be the scheme for you.
Once you have found your new home with us, you will need to provide basic information to us on your current property. We will pass this information to Property PX Group, the UK’s largest part exchange and property buying company, to work with local estate agents to value your property and provide a formal offer.
Accept the offer and we will agree a completion date on the sale of your home, based on the completion date of your new one. This means you can stay in your existing home right up until the day your new home is ready. No stress, no chains, no buyer drop-outs and no estate agent fees*!

Key Worker Scheme
Are you a key worker? People are at the heart of everything we do and to show our appreciation for our country’s incredible key workers, we are pleased to offer our Key Worker Scheme.
Applicable to those who hold a Blue Light Card, this scheme offers you a discount of up to 3% on your new home, capped at £15,000*. For example, if your chosen plot is on the market for £300,000, you would benefit from a discount of £9,000.
It’s important to let our Sales Executives know that you are a Blue Light Card holder before you reserve, so don’t forget about this fantastic scheme!

Over 60s saving, Home for Life
If you’re aged 60 or over, you can benefit from our partnership with over 60s home specialist Homewise.
The Home for Life solution can help you secure your new home for up to 59% less than the market value and be mortgage free*. It’s a great scheme which enables you to move into a brand-new home that meets your needs with no financial burdens.
Once you have chosen your new home, you then make a one-off payment to Homewise (that’s always less than the advertised price) to purchase a “Home for Life Plan”. Homewise will then buy the property. You’ll then have a lifetime lease agreement in place which is registered at Land Registry. So, whilst you don’t own the property itself, you are legally protected to live in your home for your lifetime.

Own New Rate Reducer
We are pleased to offer the Own New Rate Reducer to both first time buyers and existing homeowners.
Use this scheme and you could achieve lower monthly mortgage repayments for a fixed term on your brand-new home*.
If the scheme is suitable for you, we can contribute either 3% or 5% of the purchase price of your chosen home, which is paid directly to the mortgage lender. This means that you’ll receive a lower interest rate so you can make lower interest payments for your initial fixed term of two or five years.

Deposit Unlock
Remember the old Help to Buy Scheme? Deposit Unlock offers an alternative to this expired scheme.
Available to both first time buyers and existing homeowners, the scheme gives you the chance to reserve your new home with just a 5% deposit. You will then secure a mortgage for the remaining 95%. Unlike the Help to Buy scheme, there are no regional price cap restrictions, and you can reserve a new home up to the price of £833,250*.
Deposit Unlock is currently available with participating bank lenders including Nationwide Building Society, Accord Mortgages and Newcastle Building Society.
