2) Visit Trethorne Leisure Park for an action-packed day

Do you have little ones with bags of energy? Five Lanes Close is just an eight-minute drive away from Trethorne Leisure Park, a great family day out in Cornwall.

With plenty of adventures to be had, kids can enjoy the outdoor park with its trampolines, crazy golf, and paddle boats. The indoor play barn features slides from helter skelters to drop slides, a soft play area, wild bungee run, climbing wall, zorb football, ball pool and Didicars. Animal lovers can get up close to Trethorne’s fluffy rabbits and cuddly guinea pigs through dedicated hands-on sessions.

3) Go back in time at Tintagel Castle

Its association with King Arthur makes Tintagel Castle one of the most famous historic sites in Britain, and it’s just a 30-minute drive away from Five Lanes Close.

You will start your journey by climbing the path up to the mainland courtyard before crossing the footbridge to the island whilst taking in the dramatic Cornish coastline and cliff-top views. On the island, you can explore the remains of the 13th century castle and soak up the castle’s history through the outdoor display guides to find out how Tintagel Castle would have looked.

For wildlife lovers, you can also discover the medieval walled garden and the flora, fauna, and wildlife up on the clifftops as this is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Head down to the beach to explore Merlin’s Cave when the tide is out before relaxing inside Tintagel’s Beach Café whilst enjoying a refreshing cuppa and a locally sourced meal.

4) Indulge in the farm shop at Tre, Pol and Pen

5) Visit the fishing village of Port Isaac

Cornwall is home to many fishing villages, one of the most popular being Port Isaac. A famous filming location for tv shows and movies with the likes of Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends having been filmed there, Port Isaac welcomes thousands of visitors every year.

A short drive away from Five Lanes Close, discover the village’s quaint lanes lined with gift shops, cafes and restaurants and head a short way up the coast path for a fantastic photo opportunity which looks back on the idyllic fisherman’s port.
